MY EARS ON THE MUSIC

I'm hearing over the years a bunch of rap about money, cars, clothes and hoes, that seems to be the topic of alot of the rap music currently. I have never seen so many made rappers already at the top before they drop one single, kinda got me scratching my head. When I look at artist like Wiz, Nipsey, Krit, Mr Fab you can see how and why they are growing. Their music has substance it's NOT all same ole same ole I even hear it in artist like Jdawg as well thats the shit the get you years and years in the game. Being a artist or producer is being an individual you can't be seen or heard if you look or sound the same as everyone else. Before I end this blog I will confirm there are many more individuals out there that are doing the same as the rappers I named. These are the ones I have listened to and watched their careers form the start.

Have a blessed day keep God first!

LEARN YOUR WORTH

To all the Producers and ARTIST know your worth and understand what you are charging for and what services you provide for your business. I charge a significant amount of money for my tracks because I provide radio singles for artist which in return turns in to a vast amount of show monies for my clients. So yes if you are established and have a budget I need to be paid what I'm worth, after you walk out of my studio there are no show monies for me and the way the industry is there is almost no back end either. I hear people complain about the 360 deals, Why do you think that's in place? The labels are not stupid with the decline of record sales if they are gonna invest money into an artist they have to secure all avenues of getting there money back. These days a artist can get a couple of hot songs and not sell enough records to recoup their budget but on the other hand make a lot of money doing shows and features because of a hot record. So be very business minded about your business people and understand what you bring to the table and gauge the worth of your own stock value. In closing I want all artist to understand just because I charge a lot for tracks does not mean I want wave my fees are come down on my prices .If I believe in a artist sound I believe in waving fees are cutting them down this has been a part of my legacy for many years.

Everyone be blessed And remember to keep God first.

NEW HEAT FOR 2011

SOME OF MY FAVORITE SHIT

My first blog

I'm starting my new blog to hear opinions on things I'm doing as well to get feed back and discuss things in the music biz. I feel that it's my duty to educate up and coming artist producers etc. to keep what I have helped create alive and well and to make it much stronger than I could ever imagine. I think the new Houston movement is a good thing but I do believe as funny as it is alot of people that made way for this movement feel a little slighted, they hear the word new it makes them feel excluded, in my opinion change is always good I hear the foundation of what I brought to the table in alot of music in and out of Texas and I feel that a new sound can only help me recreate myself so I embrace and support that Although I don't reside in Houston now my heart and work will always. Ima H town repper forever !!!!!Houston Stand Up keep our movement going!
